Hi have a problem as i need to perform a clean install on my acer x1301 aspire windows 7 home premium X64 OEM, however, i also have a retail windows 7 home premium X64 DVD, if i was to change the (ei.cfg file) eg. Edit the channel from RETAIL to OEM, would that do the trick and would be able to use my OA product key on the sticker on my system?? If not is there some way i could create a WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM X64 OEM INSTALL DVD for my acer?? Please note i am not trying to break any laws just trying to obtain or create a ACER INSTALL DVD as i have already purchased a ACER pc with win 7 pre installed that came with OA key on sticker, and as for asking about editing my retail version i also purchased that too for my partner. I deleted the post you made in the 6920 Owner's Lounge because it wasn't topical. In theory, yes, editing the ei.cfg to change the channel would allow you to use your COA to install a clean version of Windows 7 HP. Heck, even deleting it outright should work.
Dec 7, 2018 - Detailed guide on installing Windows 7 on Acer Aspire One netbook. You are here: Home / Windows 7 Guides / How To Install Windows 7 On Acer Aspire One Netbook. 2007 enterprise full edition and i would like to upgrade to windows 2010. Just do this: http://store.microsoft.com/help/iso-tool.
HOWEVER, instead of wasting DVDs to try and get it right, I would create a bootable USB key with the Windows 7 installation files. Not only will that allow you to tinker with things to get it right, but it would also install faster! There are that will show you how to do this, or you can create an ISO of your existing Windows 7 DVD (using ISOrecorder or something) and make the USB key using for doing so!
